One Second by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #7

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 1/2 Reading the summary about this book made me hesitant to read it. I like romance and HEA's. I never really stray far from this genre, and the impression I got from the blurb was that this was going to be a huge war and possibly something tragic like severing a character's HEA. Neither is really something that interests me in a book.. but this is the last of the series.. and I have enjoyed the others a lot, so I gave it a chance.

The first third of the book had some interesting parts, though honestly I felt it was a bit drawn out.. but by two thirds of the way in I was enjoying the story a lot. I am glad I stuck it out. There was some really funny parts. Some nice warm fuzzy feeling parts, some emotional parts.. and I am sorry to say it.. one part I found totally cheesy.. but that's ok! I think this was a good ending to a wonderful series. I am very glad I picked these up! I really don't want to give any spoilers out, which is why I am avoiding talking about the characters. They are all in here though and I think the story weaves around them each well.

Nicole Poole did a wonderful job as always with the narration, and I would recommend this series to anyone who likes shifter books.

Here's the blurb:

Charming by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #6.5

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥  Prince was always a good character, though he seemed a bit of a stuffed shirt to me. Guess that’s what you get when you are an ancient one. I loved that he could falls for such a casual laid back woman like Kat, who to top it off is a bounty hunter! She was a kickass leading lady. I enjoyed their chemistry, and the way she slowly got him to loosen up.  There was some good laughs, and interesting situations.  You didn’t see much of the Weston Pack in this book, so if you haven’t read the other books in this series you could read this as a stand-alone. However, it's nice to read it in order as Prince does appear in the previous books a few times.

This was an easy listen for me. Nicole Poole did well with her Russian accents, though I kept hearing “RED” from the show Orange is the new black…  I am have just started the last book in the series. I am glad I picked these up!

The Blurb:

This is a full-length novel
After seven hundred years, Prince has acquired everything a Packmaster could desire. But when he meets the enchanting Nadia Kozlov, he realizes there’s one thing he doesn’t have: answers. Prince owes his life to a man he hasn’t seen in centuries, and Nadia holds the key to his whereabouts, because that man is her father.

Destinies collide when Nadia’s sister shows up unexpectedly. Katarina is a skilled bounty hunter, hot on the trail of a nefarious outlaw who turns out to be Prince’s old nemesis. Prince teams up with Nadia’s sister to track down the Mage, but the real game of cat and mouse is already underway as sparks fly between Prince and the cunning bounty hunter.

The only trouble? Nadia wants him too.

In the Seven series timeline, this full-length novel is 6.5. However, Charming can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Two Minutes by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #6

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This book starts around 10 years or so later, from the last one.  Maizy is all grown up and returns home. Now, I was really looking forward to this book.. It didn’t disappoint, however I kinda thought I would laugh more than I did. In the other books Denver was always a bit goofy, in his own story I found him a bit more serious. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Maizy and Denver. I loved how honest she was with her feelings towards him and wowza.. Did they sizzle when they got together! That scene with them was wonderfully written.

The Narrator still did a great job however was not as great as usual - there were a few spots where it was almost like she cut and paste a bit of dialogue, and sometimes those seemed to be in another “character’s” voice, so I was confused for a brief moment when that happened. It wasn’t horrible, but not as perfect as the last 5 books in this series.

Up next is Charming - Prince’s story. He’s seems like a good guy..  Should be a good read, as I have enjoyed the rest of this series!

Three Hours by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #5

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ MY FAVOURITE!!!!
I LOVED  this book. I laughed, I sighed, I paused in suspense… man it was all there! Wheeler was an odd character, seemed cold and shut off from the family. I didn't  know how these two would get on but wow it was great. That whole - I know I should hate you but I really like you instead- thing.

Wheeler truly was an endearing character once you get to know him. Naya was such a feisty woman and I think they made a great match! That couch scene…. I laughed so hard! It was awesome! There were some great touching moments between these two, some fantastic humour and some good suspenseful action.

I am looking forward to Denver’s story which I think is up next….  This series really is worth checking out for sure!

The Narrator Nicole Poole did a wonderful job, this series keeps adding characters here and there and she has all the voices down, I can tell who is talking without even having her verify it with the "Naya said" etc.

Four Days by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #4

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I really liked this one. Might be my favourite of the series so far. Lorenzo was such a tough, arrogant, pack master. Always getting his way, leading his pack without emotion. I really enjoyed the moments he and Ivy shared, even in the other books. She didn’t cower to his dominating attitude. She made him work for what he wanted, and made him want to work for it. Their intimate moments felt intimate. I LOVED when he rubs noses with Ivy… sigh…  makes him seem like a sweet caring man.. Not just an unemotional pack master.

Ivy was a strong leading lady. I really liked her quiet way. She’s firm but fair, honest and courageous. Her backstory was interesting, and emotional. I am very glad she got her HEA.  Her attitude towards Lorenzo cracked me up sometimes, their banter was wonderful and I felt their sparks right from the first moment they met.

I still love Denver, can’t wait for his story. He’s a bag of nuts! Haha! I just looked ahead at what comes next in the series… Naya and Wheeler.. Wow.. this should be interesting!

As always Nicole Poole did a wonderful job Narrating. She’s kept the same voices/accents etc throughout the series and I can easily tell who is talking. Even coming up with different ones for the newest characters.

Five Weeks by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #3

♥ ♥ ♥  Right off the start from hearing it was Jericho’s book, I was not sure I was going to enjoy it. Jericho wasn't one of my favourite characters from the previous books. He is a man who lives the “Rock’n’Roll” lifestyle, drugs, women etc. In the last book he let someone eat a cupcake laced with drugs without telling them. I am not partial to this kind of behaviour… which in turn made it hard for me to relate to or even like him.  That said there were moments where he shines and I can see his love for Izzy, which redeems him some.

Izzy also wasn’t an awesome character for me. Yes she was spunky and feisty.. But then wouldn’t stand up for herself against Hawk and kept going back to an abusive relationship. Even once she’s acknowledged that this is the case.

At chapter 15 I thought the story was about to end and I would have been happy with that. Not because I wanted it to end… more because, I felt the characters had overcome a few obstacles and I thought they were about to find their Happy Ever After.  This was not the case. I was only halfway!!! There was a lot of scenes with drunk/stoned people - yes the location of majority of this book takes place in a bar - but I got the feeling these were set ups to use some cheesy lines.  There was some repetitive information - that if you had read the previous books you really don’t need to keep hearing.. But I guess if you read this as a stand alone maybe might be needed.  Also, there was a lot of Jericho calling Izzy “Baby”  UGH!! I hate that.. "Baby, come here". "It’s ok Baby", "I’m sorry Baby".. bleh!

The characters work through some big abusive issues, drugs and physical. There was a chunk of the story where they are constantly reassuring each other about how they are strong and doing well, etc. I got pulled back into the story when it starts to pick up again with some action and then there was a steamy scene that was done really well. This was not my favourite of the series, and honestly if these two characters had just had a short novella I would have probably rated it higher.

I am moving on to book 4. I enjoy Ivy’s character and while Lorenzo is a bit of a Egomaniac.. I think she can put him in his place - so to speak. I am looking forward to their story as well as the others from this series.

Six Months by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven Series #2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This is the second book in the Seven Series. I was happy to see this was Reno and April's story as I liked their awkward “moment” in the last book.

I found April was a bit too “woe is me” and annoying. The voice the narrator used for her character reflected that - not saying the voice used was so annoying I couldn't listen, just that it was that doe-eyed-flighty-naive kinda voice. Which is fine because that is exactly what April's character is like. I would have felt the same had I "read" her character versus listening, I am sure. She was a good soul and helped wounded animals. I just wished she had more backbone and not seemed to make such odd choices. I ended up asking myself  “why would she do that?” too often.  I get that she had a hard life.. but sadly she just didn't make the cut for great leading lady in my book.

Reno was a strong quiet lead. I loved that his wolf was drawn to April. He was what she needed in a mate. Someone who would take care of her. He was protective, sexy and generous. I am glad he has his happy ending.

All the supporting characters are great. I am looking forward to Denver’s story (not sure who's is up next.) This is an interesting world they have going on here in Austin Texas.

Nicole Poole the narrator did a wonderful job again. She gets into the roles well, making you forget you are just listening to a story.. feels like you are right in there with the characters.

Seven Years by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Nicole Poole
Seven series #1

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 1/2 This book was a recommendation in an audio romance group I had just joined. And wow! Am I glad I joined!  I had never read or even heard of this author before, so was unsure of what to expect. All I knew was that it was a romance and dealt with shifters.

Austin Cole was a great lead. He had some great sweet moments, a nice steamy moment and some funny ones too.  His relationship with Lexi was perfect. He was protective, caring and .. ehemm.. attentive.  *nudge nudge wink wink*

Lexi Knight was a strong girl who cared deeply for her family. I enjoyed her spunk and thought she handled all of what she learned pretty well. I enjoyed her attraction to Austin and watching her kinda trying to fight it.

This story had some twists and turns I hadn't expected, a great cast of characters, which I am looking forward to reading about in the other stories and a wonderful narrator. I enjoyed listening to her voice. She had a few different voices and accents and also got right into the story which made it a very enjoyable listen. Hopefully she does the other books in this series!

A Dare with Consequences by Wendy S. Marcus

Dare To Love Series: Kindle Worlds Novella

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This novella was a super quick read.  Ren and Anya were sweet together.  I did find the story felt like it moved a bit too fast in some parts.. However, the writing was well done and I wished that a few scenes were longer. I loved Ren and Anya’s first conversation . They had great banter.  I would have loved to see Ren learning to handle certain situations on his own.. I think that could have been amusing.

All and all, this was a good novella. I hear that Ren’s brother Ryan is getting a story. I look forward to reading it… though secretly, since I found him a bit arrogant, I hope he has to work hard to win the woman he's after!
