Big Rock by Lauren Blakely (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Sebastian York
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I was excited to read Spence and Charlotte’s story as I had just read and loved Mister O. Spence was funny, demanding and his inner grumblings made me chuckle with his use of words like “Douche-nozzle.”

Charlotte was an honest, nice girl and at times I felt she was a little less confident in herself than I had originally thought. Those moments happening few and far between, but when they happened, they seemed to stick with me.

The two leads fit well together and I liked their ease of working in the bar as partners, they truly felt like the old friends they were written to be.

Sebastian York's narration was great as usual.

Here's the blurb:

It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too.

And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c*&k.

You might think I'm an a*&hole. I sound like one, don’t I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.

Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.

The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.

And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.

But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

What the fuck have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…

Mister O by Lauren Blakely (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Sebastian York

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Yowsa! This was a super sexy romantic comedy and I loved it! There is just something so awesome about a confident man who is very “self-assured” when it comes to women. Yet the woman he longs for, is the one woman who confuses him. To make it even better.. It’s his best friend's sister (a favourite theme of mine!) Nick was funny and heartfelt and I loved watching him figure out his feelings... and Harper’s for that matter. The two of them together cracked me up so often! I laughed out loud a bunch of times!

Sebastian York… He’s a wonderful narrator! He delivers on all the points, funny, sexy, caring. He plays his role as Nick very well. I would highly recommend his narrations.

This book is the first I have ever read by Ms. Blakely and it leaned a bit more in the erotica genre than I am used to, but the comedy, plot and characters really made the book shine!  I will definitely look for more of her books.

Here's the blurb:

From the NYT Bestselling author of BIG ROCK, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone...

Just call me Mister O. Because YOUR pleasure is my super power.

Making a woman feel ‘oh-god-that’s-good’ is the name of the game, and if a man can’t get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I’m talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time.

I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.

But then I'm thrown for a loop when a certain woman asks me to teach her everything about how to win a man. The only problem? She's my best friend's sister, but she's far too tempting to resist--especially when I learn that sweet, sexy Harper, has a dirty mind too and wants to put it to good use. What could possibly go wrong as I give the woman I've secretly wanted some no-strings-attached lessons in seduction?

No one will know, even if we send a few dirty sexts. Okay, a few hundred. Or if the zipper on her dress gets stuck. Not on that! Or if she gives me those f*&k-me-eyes on the train in front of her whole family.

The trouble is the more nights I spend with her in bed, the more days I want to spend with her out of bed. And for the first time ever, I'm not only thinking about how to make a woman cry out in pleasure --I'm thinking about how to keep her in my arms for a long time to come.

Looks like the real Adventures of Mister Orgasm have only just begun....

**MISTER O is a standalone romantic comedy and it follows supporting characters first introduced in BIG ROCK**

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase (Audio Edition)

Narrated by:
Andi Arndt & Shane East

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I really enjoyed this book!!! The whole prince in love with a commoner trope, did make me hesitant at first but I kept seeing these good snippets on Facebook around the book's release day and I just couldn't wait to read it.

Nicholas was great, just arrogant enough but was still compassionate and had all the qualities one would want of a future king. Olivia was realistic and amusing. Together they shined. At one point in the book it was a “stop-everything-and-just-stand-in-the-middle-of-the-living-room-holding-the-vacuum-and-listen” kind of moment  - which I loved …. A lot!

The narrators did a fantastic job! This book is written in alternating first person points of view and having both a male and female narrator made it a wonderful easy listen. Very glad I bought this book and I am thoroughly looking forward to the next one in the series!

Here's the blurb:

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, a.k.a. “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia―Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King...or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Carolyn Morris

Spindle Cove, Book 1

♥ ♥ ♥  I had higher hopes for this book as I have really enjoyed other stories from this author. There were some funny parts, some tender moments and some good banter. However, Bram and Susanna were both stubborn characters and I found it felt like they were at constant odds, and just when they seemed like they might make a go of it.. Some dire drama was put into the story.. I kinda wish they had just let them come to terms without that.

The narrator really did help make the story come alive with her many voices and enthusiasm. I have heard there are some really good books in this series, so I am sure I will pick up the next one soon enough!

Here's the blurb:

Welcome to Spindle Cove, where the ladies with delicate constitutions come for the sea air, and men in their prime are . . . nowhere to be found.

Or are they?

Spindle Cove is the destination of choice for certain types of well-bred young ladies: the painfully shy, young wives disenchanted with matrimony, and young girls too enchanted with the wrong men; it is a haven for those who live there.

Victor Bramwell, the new Earl of Rycliff, knows he doesn’t belong here. So far as he can tell, there’s nothing in this place but spinsters . . . and sheep. But he has no choice, he has orders to gather a militia. It’s a simple mission, made complicated by the spirited, exquisite Susanna Finch—a woman who is determined to save her personal utopia from the invasion of Bram’s makeshift army.

Susanna has no use for aggravating men; Bram has sworn off interfering women. The scene is set for an epic battle…but who can be named the winner when both have so much to lose?

Three Weeks with Lady X by Eloisa James (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Susan Duerden

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½  As I have mentioned before, I love it when there are letters between the hero and heroine. Thorn and Xenobia had wonderful banter in theirs, and I laughed aloud often.  The couple’s chemistry together was good and they had many a heated argument which was truly amplified by the narrator's wonderful performance.  I felt the epilogue was perfect. I am hoping Rose has a story as I would love to read her happily ever after.

My only negative was that I really disliked the nickname of Lala.. drove me bonkers throughout the whole story.  Other than that I enjoyed this book quite a bit!

Susan Duerden did a fantastic job as narrator. She remains high on my list of favourite narrators!

Here's the blurb:

Having made a fortune, Thorn Dautry, the powerful bastard son of a duke, decides that he needs a wife. But to marry a lady, Thorn must acquire a gleaming, civilized façade, the specialty of Lady Xenobia India.

Exquisite, headstrong, and independent, India vows to make Thorn marriageable in just three weeks.

But neither Thorn nor India anticipate the forbidden passion that explodes between them.

Thorn will stop at nothing to make India his. Failure is not an option.

But there is only one thing that will make India his . . . the one thing Thorn can't afford to lose . . . his fierce and lawless heart.

Catch of the Day by Kristan Higgins (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Xe Sands

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Why-oh-why did I wait so long to read this book! I let a few negative reviews hold me back.. so silly of me! Kristan Higgins always delivers! And pairing that with the excellent narration of Xe Sands!!! It's a big win in my book!

This story is written in first person and therefore you don't get to see much of Malone’s point of view..  but as much as I love hearing the hero’s side of it, this doesn't detract from the sparks factor. The minute Malone is in the scene goosebumps breakout down my arms.. ooh yeah!

Now Maggie did do a couple of odd things in this story.. which personally, I would never do.. but hey, each to their own right?? She has a twin sister and I love, Love, LOVE it when their “mate” is the only person that can tell them apart!! Malone was a man of very few words but he still made his presence known.  I am just left sighing here while I write this.

On a side note…  Xe Sands has one of the sexiest male voices ever, and considering she's a woman.. I just gotta say well done!  I love her narrations.

Here's the blurb:

Maggie Beaumont's luck is about to change. Sure, she's known for her bad romantic choices—her former boyfriend broke up with her by bringing his new girlfriend home for a visit. And then there was the crush she had on a gorgeous young Irishman, who turned out to be Father Tim, the parish's new priest.

But romantic salvation has arrived in the form of handsome, if surly, fisherman Malone. It turns out there's a heart of gold underneath his barnacle-clad exterior. Will this catch of the day turn into the dish of a lifetime?

What Happens Under the Mistletoe by Sabrina Jeffries, Karen Hawkins and Candace Camp

Overall Rating: 5 Stars -This book was a surprise for me, I was hesitant to pick it up.. mostly because I had other books in line from my favourite authors and this book has 3 out 4 authors that I don't know that well. I am sure glad I read this though! What a fantastic compilation of stories!

The Heiress and the Hothead by Sabrina Jeffries

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½  Well first off this story takes place on my birthday -  a century and a half earlier.. but still great choice in days!  I like the little feeling I get from Warren toward his ward Clarissa… Could they have a story?  Stephen and Amanda had good chemistry… I only felt it seemed rushed at one tiny spot. The writing was well done, and I quite enjoyed the family dynamics. I got a few chuckles as well which is always a bonus!

Twelve Kisses to Midnight by Karen Hawkins

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I can feel the chemistry right away between Marcus and Kenna. These characters had a lot of internal monologues, more than usual from Hawkins I thought - not bad at all, just different. Even though it's a short story. The writing is so well done it doesn't feel rushed or lacking at all.

By Any Other Name by Candace Camp

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Right away I am intrigued by this story. Has a bit of the Cinderella feel in part where she is mysterious and he wants to find her.  I loved the pace of this book. It didn't feel rushed and I felt the chemistry between the Rylla and Gregory throughout the entire story.  I don't believe I have read this author before, but I will be sure to check out her back list!

Sweetest Regret by Meredith Duran

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I am generally not a fan of political plots so when this started off as a party full of politicians, I was a bit disappointed, however when the two lead got together on the page.. some crazy magic happened. Lucas.. his words, his feelings.. wow! What a great lead! The writing was wonderful, and did not feel like a short story at all. I am definitely going to check out more from this author!

* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review *

In Bed With a Highlander by Maya Banks (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Kirsten Potter
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½  Right from the beginning of this book I saw lots of similarities between it and two of Julie Garwood’s books: Ransom and The Bride. Both of which are favourites of mine.  This is not a negative point against the book just an observation. Once the major plot of the story gets going the similarities lessen a bit.  I enjoyed the lead characters and the other two McCabe brothers. I am looking forward to their stories!
The Narrator did a wonderful job. I loved listening to her accents and she had a variety of voices to keep it easy to distinguish between characters.

The Blurb:

Maya Banks' beguiling new trilogy features three unforgettable brothers risking everything to save their clan and their legacy—and to surrender their hearts to love.

Ewan McCabe, the eldest, is a warrior determined to vanquish his enemy. Now, with the time ripe for battle, his men are ready and Ewan is poised to take back what is his—until a blue-eyed, raven-haired temptress is thrust upon him. Mairin may be the salvation of Ewan's clan, but for a man who dreams only of revenge, matters of the heart are strange territory to conquer.

The illegitimate daughter of the king, Mairin possesses prized property that has made her a pawn—and wary of love. Her worst fears are realized when she is rescued from peril only to be forced into marriage by her charismatic and commanding savior, Ewan McCabe. But her attraction to her ruggedly powerful new husband makes her crave his surprisingly tender touch; her body comes alive under his sensual mastery. And as war draws near, Mairin's strength, spirit, and passion challenge Ewan to conquer his demons—and embrace a love that means more than revenge and land.

Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Kathleen Early
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This is the first book I have read by Rachel Gibson and it won't be the last! I laughed, and sighed and was intrigued enough to keep listening till it was over.  Vince and Sadie were a great match together, both looking for nothing and found something. Their banter was terrific right from the start and I loved how Sadie kept adding more Texas slang to her vocabulary the longer she stayed.

The narrator was easy to listen to and had enough voices that I could differentiate between the characters, I would gladly listen to her again.

The Blurb:

She’s 33, unmarried, and stuffed into a Bubble Yum pink bridesmaid dress. And the whole town wants to fix her up with anyone with a dental plan...

Who’s going to rescue Sadie Hollowell now? Everyone in Lovett, Texas knows Sadie has always been a ‘notional’ kind of gal. She got a notion to leave town ASAP and never visit her daddy (bless his heart). Now, she’s back and got the notion to invite a good-looking, hard-muscled, total stranger to her cousin’s wedding. Better a stranger than some of the losers she’s dated.

Vince Haven got his muscles the hard way -- as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan. He’s staying in Lovett to visit his crazy aunt -- the proprietor of the local Gas N Go. Before he can get the heck back out of the small town, his aunt makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Maybe he’ll stick around Lovett for a while. Maybe he’ll make a ‘go’ of the Gas N Go. Maybe he’ll rescue Sadie out of that pink dress!
