Royally Matched by Emma Chase (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Shane East and Andi Arndt
Series: Royally #2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ What a great read! I loved Sarah, she was quiet, strong, and shy (until she’s comfortable with you.) The complete opposite of Henry. He is the ultimate irresponsible playboy and I loved watching him realize his love for Sarah. The premise of the book being a reality TV show was perfect for Henry character. All the attention and drama that goes with it, really allowed us to watch him mature. There were some perfect sweet moments, and laugh out loud dialogue, which of course I LOVE.

Both narrators did a fantastic job on this book! I am looking forward to the third in the series.

The Blurb:

Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.

He’s not handling it well.

Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:

Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.

A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.

While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.

The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.

As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

Paper Hearts by Claire Contreras (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Misty Stone and Vikas Adam
Series: Hearts #2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½ I loved the chemistry between Mia and Jensen and I could really feel how much he loved her.  Some of the things he said to her just made me melt! I could tell Mia loved him a lot too, however she was very cautious with her heart and at a point in the story I was a bit disappointed that she was STILL acting like Jensen wasn't all in, which considering how much he's shown her, surprised me.  In the end though it was a sweet and heartwarming story. I have not read this author before but I will be sure to check her out again.

Misty Stone’s narration was quite good. Vikas Adam sounded like he was trying to deepen his voice and I found it sounded odd,(almost “pretend scary monster” like) however he didn't have a lot of parts to read and I got used to it after a while. In the end I thought the narration overall was well done.

The Blurb:

I lost her.

No, I didn't lose her. I threw her away.

She was my best friend.

I was never supposed to fall in love with her.

I was careless.

She was heartbroken.

I was doing fine until she came back into my life and reminded me what love was supposed to feel like.

When it's all said and done, she may not want to stay, but this time I'm going to do everything in my power to not let her go.

Don't Speak by Katy Regnery

Release Date: February 27, 2017

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ½ Once I started reading this book I didn't want to stop! Regnery has a wonderful ability to pull you into a world and make you want never want to leave. She always brings out my emotions and this story was no different. I am trying hard to write this review without giving away any spoilers. So I broke it down best I could:

What I Loved:

  • That Erik and Laire are drawn to each other right away.
  • Laire’s personal growth - she starts out quite naive but proves to be a strong woman and works hard to have the life she wants.
  • That the story proves: family isn't always blood related.
  • The love Erik and Laire have for each other.
  • There are some funny parts and some great tender moments.
  • How they meet years later… I was all giddy with excitement at that point in the book!

What I liked less:

  • I found Laire almost too naive in the beginning, but she's from a remote island, and considering her family...ugh.. I get it.
  • The major plot turning point, sorta had me scoffing.. perhaps I expected something more?
  • Laire’s family.. the way they think and act is horrible and completely archaic. I just flat-out disliked them.

All in all, I quite enjoyed this story and would totally recommend it. It feels more like an actual real-life happy ending, than a super-all-tied-up-perfect unbelievable one. It's a good addition to the series and I think the author made the story fit “The Little Mermaid” tale well. I also want to add.. I loved the cover!! It's beautiful!

*I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

The Blurb:

From New York Times bestseller Katy Regnery comes a new twist on a beloved fairytale.

A fisherman’s daughter.

The governor’s son.

Two very different worlds.

In this modern retelling of The Little Mermaid, a fisherman’s daughter from an Outer Banks island untouched by time, meets the son of North Carolina’s governor at a fancy party where she’s working.

Laire, who wants so much more from life than her little island can offer, is swept away by wealthy, sophisticated Erik, who is, in turn, entranced by her naiveté and charm. The two spend a whirlwind summer together that ends on the knife-point of heartbreak and forces them to go their separate ways.

Years later, when fate leads them back to one another, they will discover the terrifying depth of the secrets they kept from each other, and learn that shattered hearts can only be healed by a love that willfully refuses to die.

All novels Katy Regnery’s ~a modern fairytale~ collection are written as fundraisers. 10% of the e-book sales for in March and April 2017 will be donated to P.E.O. International, a non-profit organization that celebrates the advancement of women, awards scholarships and grants, and provides motivation for women to make their dreams come true.

**Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity, adult themes and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

Echoes of Scotland Street by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Elle Newlands
On Dublin Street Series #5

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Cole was everything I knew he would be. Caring, strong and not a player which was awesome. This book was quite enjoyable. I do wish it would have been from Cole's point of view as he's the character we've read about from the past 5 books. That said, he was very upfront with his thoughts so even though this book was from Shannon’s pov, we still got to see most of what he is thinking.

Shannon was coming out of a bad relationship and I felt she progressed through her emotions well. Also, the secondary characters in this story were a lively bunch and only added to the story.

Elle Newlands did a fantastic job as narrator. She puts a lot of feeling and emotion in her performances.

The Blurb:

Shannon MacLeod has always gone for the wrong type of man. After she drifted from one toxic relationship to the next, her last boyfriend gave her a wake-up call in the worst possible way. With her world shattered, she's sworn off men - especially those of the bad-boy variety.

Cole Walker is exactly the sort that Shannon wants to avoid - gorgeous, tattooed, charming, and cocky. But his rough exterior hides a good man who's ready to find "the one". He's determined to pull Shannon from her self-imposed solitude to win her heart.

As Shannon opens up in the face of Cole's steady devotion, the passion between them ignites to blazing levels. But when Shannon's past comes back to haunt her, her fears may destroy the trust Cole has built between them - and tear them apart for good....

Fall From India Place by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Chloe Lynn
On Dublin Street Series #4

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Oh Wow, what an emotional ride this story was! Marco and Hannah are fantastic together. The passion and longing just intensified this story for me. It was well written, both characters dealing with their own issues at different times, then finally dealing with some of them together.

The narrator has a very soothing voice making it very easy to listen. In the beginning the story jumps from past to present and back, sometimes leaving me a bit confused, but usually not for long.

So happy I found this series and I can't wait for the next book!

The Blurb:

When Hannah Nichols last saw Marco D'Alessandro five long years ago, he broke her heart. The bad boy with a hidden sweet side was the only guy Hannah ever loved - and the only man she's ever been with. After one intense night of giving in to temptation, Marco took off, leaving Scotland and Hannah behind. Shattered by the consequences of their night together, Hannah has never truly moved on.

Leaving Hannah was the biggest mistake of Marco's life - something he has deeply regretted for years. So when fate reunites them, he refuses to let her go without a fight. Determined to make her his, Marco pursues Hannah, reminding her of all the reasons they're meant to be together.

But just when Marco thinks they're committed to a future together, Hannah makes a discovery that unearths the secret pain she's been hiding from him - a secret that could tear them apart before they have a real chance to start over again.

Castle Hill by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Paula Costello
On Dublin Street Series #3.5

♥ ♥ ♥ ½ This book was pretty good. You kinda already know what's happened between Joss and Braden, if you have read Before Jamaica Lane. However it explains the details that we didn't get to see. There is lots of sex scenes (it's their honeymoon after all). I liked seeing a bit of the behind the scenes for the proposal and Jocelyn’s views on the honeymoon and kids.

This continues to be a well written series.

The blurb:

Braden Carmichael never imagined he’d fall as hard and as fast as he did for Jocelyn Butler. He also could not have anticipated how difficult it would be to convince her to give in to love. But now that he has her, he’s never letting go. He’s got it all planned—the passionate proposal, the dream wedding, the sexy Hawaiian honeymoon—even the perfect family they’ll start.

After trying to flee from her painful past, Joss is finally allowing herself to embrace the future. But when things start moving faster than she anticipated, she finds herself panicking over something Braden can’t understand. After everything they’ve been through, Joss is sure that their love can survive even her worst fears. But, this time, she may push Braden too far—and risk losing everything all over again…

Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Angelica Lee

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ One of the best “Friends to Lovers” stories that I have read! Nate and Olivia have wonderful chemistry that can be both passionate and sweet. As this story is told only from Olivia’s pov, it makes me really wish I got to hear Nate’s side.

I think this book is my favourite of the series so far. The narrator is clear spoken and has a nice voice, however in the beginning, I found her Scottish accent had moments of “Dracula” in it, but as the story progressed, the passion and emotions she portrayed, had me completely lost in Olivia and Nate’s world and I didn't notice it again. Hey.. she does much better than I could ever do!!!

The Blurb:

One simple lesson in seduction between two friends can turn into so much more…

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex—usually, she can’t get up the nerve to approach guys she’s interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it’s time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he’s as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate’s past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left broken-hearted. When Nate realizes he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him—or he may lose her forever…

Down London Road by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)

Narrated by Elle Newlands

♥ ♥ ♥  For me this book didn't have the same pull as the last two. I never really had an interest in Johanna’s story. Her past and current situation made for a story with hard issues to overcome. I wasn’t impressed with the way Cam and Jo met. Cam was a total jerk towards her and later on, he uses something personal just to hurt her, which really bothered me. Both leads in this book seemed very angry and jealous.. Jo was too insecure and Cam a bit too fast to revert back to name calling. There were points for me where I couldn’t understand why Jo couldn’t see she was doing the same things she was accusing Cam of doing. I just wonder if these two keep up this current model.. How long will they actually last?

That said, we also get to meet Cole, Johanna’s younger brother - I liked him a lot. He and Cam have a great relationship and I saw that he gets a book of his own, which I am totally looking forward to. The writing was good and the narration easy to listen to. Yes, it didn’t draw me in as much as the other books, but there was deeper problems for the leads to deal with (abuse, and alcoholism) and this required more backstory, and explanation, which, I felt  was done well. The narrator also made this book an easy listen. She was a little breathy for Cam’s voice but I got used to that.  Had I read this and not listened.. It would have taken me longer I think.  Worth the read?  Yes as you get to see what’s happening with all the other characters and how their stories progress. I am looking forward to the next book.

The Blurb:

Johanna Walker is used to taking charge. But she’s about to meet someone who will make her lose control....

It has always been up to Johanna to care for her family, particularly her younger brother, Cole. With an absent father and a useless mother, she’s been making decisions based on what’s best for Cole for as long as she can remember. She even determines what men to date by how much they can provide for her brother and her, not on whatever sparks may—or may not—fly.

But with Cameron MacCabe, the attraction is undeniable. The sexy new bartender at work gives her butterflies every time she looks at him. And for once, Jo is tempted to put her needs first. Cam is just as obsessed with getting to know Jo, but her walls are too solid to let him get close enough to even try.

Then Cam moves into the flat below Jo’s, and their blistering connection becomes impossible to ignore. Especially since Cam is determined to uncover all of Jo’s secrets …even if it means taking apart her defenses piece by piece.

Unfinished Love Duet by Violet Duke

The duet is complete! Don't miss out on this amazing series by New York Times Bestselling Author, Violet Duke!

- A USA TODAY Bestseller! -- Before that night, Addison Milan had been just a college dropout secretly raising her two young siblings in a beat-up minivan she'd bought with her first semester's tuition refund--the only money her addict mother hadn't taken off with when she'd abandoned them nearly two years ago.

Before that night, Caine Spencer had been just a rough, gruff cop sent to check out the phoned-in claims of suspected child neglect involving the same woman he'd met just months prior when she'd first served him the city's worst diner coffee...which he'd been drinking daily ever since. Before that night, Addison would never have thought the man she'd been fighting hard not to fall for--her only friend in her new shadow of a life--would be in a position to rip her family apart. Before that night, Caine would never have believed any woman could make him fall head over heels, let alone make him feel so damn compelled to look the other way when it came to his job. Then that one perfect night changed everything. "Hot, sweet, and filled with tender moments, Violet Duke writes heroes who make me swoon!" -- New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan BEFORE THAT NIGHT (Bk 1 of 2) chronicles the events that take place seven years prior to EVERY NIGHT WITHOUT YOU (Bk 2 of 2), Caine & Addison's story of love, sacrifice, and the lengths one will run--and chase--when their past threatens their future.

Seven years.
Seven damn years of wondering whether the woman was still alive...whether she'd spent the last two thousand five hundred fifty-five days wondering if he was still alive. Wondering whether that night was as burned into her memory as it was his. Seven years having his heart tethered to Addison―and now she's back. With even more reasons to run than she'd had then. Only this time, Caine isn't letting the gorgeous little flight risk out of his sight. Regardless of how noble her reasons may be. "Violet Duke is my go-to read when I just want to immerse myself in a captivating romance." - NYT bestselling author J.S. Cooper EVERY NIGHT WITHOUT YOU (Bk 2 of 2) takes place seven years after BEFORE THAT NIGHT (Bk 1 of 2), and is the conclusion of Caine & Addison's story of love, sacrifice, and the lengths one will run―and chase―when their past threatens their future.
